Mommy Porn ?

Sorry, No Illustrations !

   
     Heard some hoopla about it, wrote the title down and promptly forgot about it.  That's pretty typical of me even though I am a big fan of lists; not so much a post-it note person.


     Then I heard some more hoopla and missed the interview of the author on the show.  Only caught a tidbit - saying something to the effect, "I'm not a very good writer."

     That made me curious and motivated.  Directly after work I had Dennis drive me to our local bookstore,  The Book Nook.  Previous trips to the larger retail/department stores had failed to turn up a copy.  The Nook had sold out but were expecting a shipment and I could leave my name and number to be called when my copy arrived.  I ordered a second book (featured by Today Show's Bobbie Thomas "The Gift of Fear") and it felt good spending money at a local up close and personal store.

 I devoured it in two days.

And I have two explanations as to why: 


     Easy read; she is obviously a better writer than she gives herself credit for.  Hearing the subject being called "Mommy Porn" had me laughing out loud.  I always thought it was called erotica.


     I have always wondered if I could compose such reading material because some of what I have read was more "Hustler" than "Playboy" if you know what I mean.  I think E. L. James did a wonderful job of keeping it nice, classy and not vulgar.  I bought and downloaded the rest of the trilogy to my IMAC, android tablet, and Kindle - one always within reach.  But, boy, did it feel good to curl up on the couch and hold a real book in my hands.

I can't say the husband benefitted directly, but now he's reading it.
